In Honor and Remembrance of babies gone too soon
Mission: Heaven's Babies, the local chapter of Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support, Inc., is here to serve those whose lives are touched by the tragic death of a baby through pregnancy loss, stillbirth or in the first few months of life.
The primary purpose is to provide support toward positive resolution of grief experienced at the time of, or following the death of a baby.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
Heaven's Babies is a nonprofit organization designed to provide support to families who are grieving from the loss of a child, be it miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death.
"I remember it like it was yesterday, Labor Day Weekend 2010 and we were headed out of town following the doctor's appointment to find out the gender of our first child. I had taken off of work the Friday before Labor Day and we were excited to have an extended weekend on top of already being ecstatic about our pregnancy. The visit went well and we were informed we were having a little boy. The emotions immediately took over and we began to plan for the future. We decided to name our son Connor Joshua and we started to stock up on baby clothes, diapers, and all things needed for the arrival of a new baby. We painted the nursery, bought a crib and changing table, and the anticipation grew each and every day. The next few months went as planned and we crossed into 2011, expecting to have our new bundle of joy sometime in April 2011. We had a scheduled appointment on January 19th and up until this appointment I had attended every doctor's visit with my wife. For whatever reason, I went on to work and she went by herself. I received a call from her doctor at work the morning of January 19th, I took the call and was informed our little Connor was gone. Everything we had hoped for was gone. Our dreams and plans with our baby boy were gone. We didn't know what to do, didn't know where to turn. We relied on family, friends, and most of all God to get us through the toughest days of our lives. For the next couple of weeks we managed each and every day trying to find comfort where there was little to be found. My wife was finishing her degree at the time and was to graduate in August 2011 with a Capstone Project set for the final exam. After much discussion with the Professor, we were allowed to build a business from the ground up using the subject of stillbirth research and awareness. We built a foundation where we not only emphasized our efforts on having a place for grieving families to go for support, but also a place which could provide financial help and piece of mind for families as well. So at the end of 2011, we sent our Business Plan to Sparks Hospital as this was where Connor was born and were treated with the utmost care and compassion. Our plan was accepted by Sparks and we became part of the national SHARE PROGRAM and have been able to help many individuals and families cope with their loss while grieving for our loss in ways we did not expect. Heaven's Babies is our way of remembering Connor and we are extremely blessed to be able to be a part of the lives of others who have experienced the same tragedy."
